Prefabrication and Virtual Design & Construction
Pieper Electric’s Preconstruction Services has two primary capabilities: Prefabrication and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC).
Our Prefabrication Department consists of specialists who create drawings and manufacture custom products that are shipped when needed, ready to install. Professionally packaged with detailed installation drawings, every effort is made to ensure a smooth transition from our shop to the jobsite and on to completion. With decades of electrical field experience, our committed team has the diverse skills and competencies necessary to anticipate an installer’s needs and implement common sense solutions. Helping a project progress more efficiently is at the forefront of every venture we take on.
Our VDC Department takes this vision even further by producing drawings and models in a virtual environment that are based on the specific needs of the project. Services such as having points laid out via robotic total station equipment, two-dimensional (2D) drawings and three-dimensional (3D) Building Information Modeling (BIM) can all help to anticipate obstacles before they arise in the field and highlight solutions that will minimize or eliminate impact to other trades. These capabilities also allow for the most efficient layout of electrical distribution and branch systems. Items such as circuits, conduit/cable tray routing, and equipment/device/fixture positioning can all be optimized ahead of time improving installation schedules and creating greater flexibility. No matter the size or scope, the VDC team can conceptualize and simplify any project.
The success of services such as VDC and prefabrication depend greatly on a strong partnership with field leadership and project management. This cooperation results in economies of scale for Pieper Electric while keeping the passion of maintaining high quality and exceptional service evident at every turn. For instance, consider the complicated and time-consuming tasks of underground and overhead work. Traditionally, project leadership would be required to decipher where and how conduits will be routed, create sketches to simplify this process for their team and fabricate every component on-site, individually.
By teaming up with VDC, those underground and overhead routes are mapped out and coordinated with other trades ahead of time. When prefabricated products are utilized in conjunction with VDC’s layouts, installations can be simpler, safer, and run ahead of schedule with minimal adjustments and/or oversight required.
These relationships, innovative design techniques, and their application in the field have proven successful. To date, projects executed across the company have reduced costs, waste, and their team’s exposure to hazardous conditions, all while increasing efficiencies. Our dedicated professionals are eager to take on new challenges and are committed to ensuring your goals are met with the same level of quality and attention to detail that every project deserves.
